Under Construction-But Worth Waiting For!

Well, the recession-like climate we're all living in has even affected virtual business! My Pretend Bakery had to stop operations because of a work slowdown and -- frankly -- lack of time funds. You know what they say: time is money.
Soon tho, we'll be back on track. Planning the decor, making the menus, testing the recipes, and aromas of all kinds of lusciousness will be sailing your way.
So you can still plan your tea party, your birthday celebrations (with some very special birthday cakes), your anniversary brunches, and your break from the office to the cafe for a nice warm cafe au lait and miniature brioche.
It's all still coming...soon!

I just hired a handyman. He comes with some impressive credentials! I'm hoping to hand over the entire design phase to him. He can deal with the flooring guys, and the furniture decisions and the lighting and window treatments. He's very good at it. And I trust his taste.

Now I can concentrate on the baking! New menu coming up next!

Well, we're working on it. The design team has an argument every day and I just try to agree to keep the process moving. I want to open this thing!
If you've got any ideas just let me know. I'm going for a cozy, yet bright environment. Definitely want it to feel welcoming. There'll be some tables for people to sit and sip coffee, tea. Not a laptop office kinda place. More like where you would go to escape your computer. You know, maybe read a newspaper, magazine, book...the things you never seem to have the time to do. Do it here at the bakery.
Meantime I'm working on the recipes. We'll have some nice brioche and croissant (plain, with marmalade inside, with chocolate inside, and with vanilla cream inside), some nice, petite cinnamon raisin buns (not the giant kind) (and maybe without the raisins) no, I know, currants. Little baby currants. We'll do small rolls, too. The buttery kind, with layers. And then the whole grain kind with lots of flavor. And more. I'm working on the list.
We take requests. So let me know if you've got favorites. I'll have to like them, too. Or at least enjoy baking them.
How about a nice rosemary focaccia?

How about these?

This window. No, that window.

Do you like this floor?
